Children's House
WE STILL GROWNING
We add:
materials by areas and experimentation, the learning combination
When the children have mastered all the materials in Children's Community, they move on to the Children's House at around two and a half to three years of age, where new learning areas are added, full of materials perfectly designed
for the children to continue adding to their knowledge.
What does a Montessori Children's House look like?
When the boys and girls complete their time in the Children's Community, they begin their journey in the Children's House where they stay for approximately 3 years and new areas are added.
Freedom of movementbeingdoingchoice
In a Montessori Children's House environment children can choose what to work on each day. In traditional education, the teacher dictates what to work on each day and each child spends the same amount of time. In Montessori each child
can dedicate as much time as they need to each of the areas, either because they need more time for certain areas or because they are particularly passionate about specific aspects of the environment. Motivating 100% of their learning.
We add areas
Mathematics, language, geography, history, biology, music, art... We take advantage of the enormous abilities of the children at this time to continue to awaken their curiosity and their desire to learn constantly. The materials follow
a progression and when the child handles one, their guide introduces them to the next. Each child advances at their own pace and according to their needs, achieving great objectives at the end of the period, such as reading and writing
and the concept of multiplication and even division, for example.
Observation
In the Children's House environment, as in all Montessori environments, observations are made on a daily basis. Every step of the children's learning process is monitored and guided. All the materials are manipulative and every use
of them is recorded daily, this is due to the fact that in the environment there is always a guide and an assistant, unlike in traditional education where there is only one teacher in the classroom.
